Chapter 1. Introduction

SNP is designed to estimate net rock volume from seismic attributes. It works by detuning and calibrating average amplitude extracted from coloured inversion data.

It operates on horizon data read directly from a range of data sources, and exports horizon data back to the data source. For an outline of the process, users of SNP are advised to read: Connolly, P.A., 2005, Net pay estimation from seismic attributes, EAGE Extended Abstracts. Connolly, P.A., October 2007, A simple, robust algorithm for seismic net pay estimation, The Leading Edge.
